FLEET RATING

E3 Fleet Rating is designed to evaluate and recognize performance, and allows fleets to be rated at the Bronze, Silver or Gold level of performance. E3 Fleet Rating uses a point-based Rating System Checklist for rating fleet performance, with points for fleet management practices and energy / emissions performance.

Fleets can meet these performance levels based on satisfying the best management practices set out through E3 Fleet Green Guidelines related to:

  • Fleet Action Plan
  • Training and Awareness
  • Idling Reduction
  • Vehicle Purchasing
  • Fuel Data Management
  • Operations & Maintenance
  • Trip & Route Planning
  • Utilization Management
  • Fuel Efficiency
  • Greenhouse Gas Performance

E3 Fleet Rating is based on verification by a third party, who carries out a site visit in order to review the evidence provided by the fleet for meeting the E3 Fleet Standards.  In order to maintain E3 Fleet Rating status, fleets must be rated at least every two years.

E3 Fleet Members are provided with tools such as the E3 Fleet Rating Handbook, which contains information to assist them in understanding what will be required during the rating process, as well as guidance on how to get there.

Prior to Rating, fleets must also have completed a full Fleet Review in order to establish a baseline for Fuel Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas performance.
