Charging Stations Incentive — Application and Evaluation Process

Early Bird Applications for Charging Stations Incentive Received
(May 30 – June 27)

  • The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) opens the application process on May 30
  • FBC receives and screens applications for completeness and eligibility
  • FBC refers eligible, complete applications to the CCI Fund Selection Committee (BC Ministry of Environment, BC Ministry of Energy & Mines and BC Hydro) for the early bird review, selection and notification process.

Early Bird Application Deadline for Charging Stations Incentive (June 27, 2012)

Funding Decisions on Early Bird Applications (June 28 – July 31)

  • The Selection Committee evaluates all early bird applications for the Charging Stations Incentive and makes funding decisions in accordance with evaluation criteria
  • FBC notifies each applicant of the Selection Committee’s decision
  • Each successful applicant completes a funding contribution agreement

Final Application Deadline for Charging Stations Incentive (September 28, 2012)

Further Funding Decisions (August 1 - October 31, 2012)

  • The Selection Committee evaluates all applications for the Charging Stations Incentive received between July 28 and September 28, 2012 and makes funding decisions in accordance with evaluation criteria. Approval of applications is subject to funding availability.
  • FBC notifies each applicant of the Selection Committee’s decision
  • Each entity approved for funding completes a funding contribution agreement

Completion of Charging Station Installations (March 31, 2013)

  • Deadline for installation of all community charging stations and for final reporting

Planning Incentive — Application and Evaluation Process

Applications Received (May 30 – June 27)

  • The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) opens the application process on May 30
  • FBC receives and screens applications for completeness and eligibility
  • FBC refers eligible, complete applications to the CCI Fund Selection Committee (BC Ministry of Environment, BC Ministry of Energy & Mines and BC Hydro)

Application Deadline (June 27, 2012)

  • Final deadline for applications for the Planning Incentive

Funding Decisions (June 28 – July 31)

  • The Selection Committee evaluates all applications for the Planning Incentive and makes funding decisions in accordance with evaluation criteria
  • FBC notifies each applicant of the Selection Committee’s decision
  • Each successful applicant completes a funding contribution agreement

Deadline for Completion of Planning Processes (November 30, 2012)

  • Deadline for completion of and final reporting on community-wide and regional planning processes funded under the Planning Incentive

Funding Decisions (October-December, 2012)

  • The Selection Committee reviews each community plan delivered under the Planning Incentive and gives final approval of funding for stations recommended in the planning process (subject to funding availability)
  • FBC notifies each applicant of the Selection Committee’s decision
  • Each entity approved for funding completes a funding contribution agreement

Completion of Charging Station Installations (March 31, 2013)

Deadline for installation of all community charging stations and for final reporting.

About Plug in BC

Plug In BC is an initiative led by the Province of BC to lay the groundwork for plug-in electric vehicles and related electric charging infrastructure.

This is a broad collaboration that includes BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, Fraser Basin Council (Green Fleets BC), BC Institute of Technology and University of Victoria (Institute for Integrated Energy Systems).

About the Community Charging Infrastructure Fund

A cornerstone of Plug in BC is the Community Charging Infrastructure (CCI) Fund. This fund offers incentives to both public and private sector to help build a network of 570 electric vehicle charging stations across BC for use by the public and by fleets.

The Fund is overseen by the BC Ministry of Environment and BC Ministry of Energy and Mines, and administered by the Fraser Basin Council.
