The City of Prince George was awarded an E3 Silver Rating by the Fraser Basin Council in 2010, reflecting the accomplishments of the City’s Fleet Services Division. After a full Fleet Review that established a baseline for the fleet’s fuel efficiency and emissions, the City signed up for comprehensive fleet audit by an external E3 auditor. The Silver Rating was based on a number of achievements, including the City’s fleet action plan, training and awareness, idling reduction, greenhouse gas performance, vehicle purchasing, sustainable purchasing, fuel data management, innovation, implementation of best practices. |
UPDATE! PG’S NEW FLEET PLANThe City of Prince George has a new three-year fleet plan Towards a Greener Fleet. Adopted by Council in March 2011, the plan is to cut greenhouse gas emissions further, trim operating costs and improve fuel management. There are ambitious new targets, and the City is now aiming for an E3 Fleet Gold Rating. |
